Hosted Trip to No Name Lodge — Boquerón, Puerto Rico (Aug 30–Sept 5, 2026)
Join me this upcoming fall for an unforgettable week of chasing permit and tarpon on Puerto Rico’s wild southwest coast.
I’m teaming up with No Name Fly Lodge — one of the most unique fly-fishing operations in the Caribbean — for a small-group hosted trip to Boquerón, where we’ll explore coral flats, dial in technical fishing, and have a hell of a time doing it.
This trip is perfect for anglers who love the balance of hardcore fishing and relaxed lodge vibes — big tarpon in mangrove channels, tailing permit on coral rubble flats, and rum drinks to celebrate a good days’ fishing.

Travel Info
You can fly into Ponce (PSE), Aguadilla (BQN), or San Juan (SJU).
Most guests fly into San Juan and take a short Cape Air puddle jumper to Mayagüez (MAZ) — where the lodge will pick you up.
Once your flights are booked, send me your itinerary and we’ll handle the rest.
What to Bring
Rods:
- Permit: 8–10wt (Hardy recommended)
- Tarpon: 9–12wt (Hardy recommended)
Lines: Floating lines like the SA Grand Slam or Rio Flats Pro (stretch/clean before the trip). I will provide fly line cleaner every night for use. My last trip I used the SA infinity line with good success. I do believe a clear line or clear tip wil provide an advantage when permit fishing.

Flies:
- Tarpon: EP baitfish in Black/Purple, Black/Red, White/Chartreuse, Tan/Natural mixes (sizes 1/0–3/0)
- Permit: Various crab and shrimp patterns (sizes 4–1/0) — our guides will advise daily
Clothing: High quality polarized sunglasses, waterproof jacket, sun gear, and durable flats boots for wading.
