Quick video on how to tie the Raghead Crab, one of the most used and easy-to-tie saltwater flies for targeting permit. This fly and its variations are going to be on pretty much every Mexico/Belize/Yucatan fly lodge’s recommended fly list. In this quick tutorial, I walk you through the exact techniques and materials I use to tie this pattern the quick and dirty way. You can also tie it with Mcflyfoam or wool but it tends to take longer and be a lot messier process. Materials Used in this Raghead Crab Fly: Mustad S71 Hook (#4) Medium Lead Eyes (coated with nail polish) Veevus 140 Power Thread Marabou or any wispy feathers Hackle feathers (for claws) Sightcast rubber legs Hareline Furry Foam Drop any questions below or let me know what fly you’d like to see next.
